There was a blank page on the desk
he yearned to fill with words
and lines of life and love and
other inconveniences.
As he began to write she sat
across from him, shouting
and seeking his attention,
for she lacked a page of her own.
And in reply he told her no,
for though she was immortal
in his eyes and on the page
he needed time for other things.
She rose from her chair and opened
herself, and her eyes,
and her book of matches,
and set his precious page ablaze.
He was frantic and bade her leave
as he finished his opus
in vain. For the flames devoured
everything on the page.
And they were both at fault.

Baldur's Got Nothing On Me
1
'I want to consume you', said the lightning
of your eyes, as the tips of your lips
and tongue followed the contours of his skin.
You whispered your secrets into his ear
'til I was blinded by his smile.
Across the room I saw your words traverse
his face, and ached to take his place.
I could imagine every word and left
there thinking 'you were paradise in prose'.
2
You were lying with your torso exposed
and the tattoo of his hand
on the small of your back
was inspired, like contour lines
exploring the topography
that I had yet to chart
and leading the way
to a hidden treasure
that I was yet to find,
and I will freely admit

Llamas: Conversation in Poem
Llamas
By peachnewt and knightswhodontsayni
This is a conversation in poem that started with the gift of a llama.
knightswhodontsayni:
Thanks for the llama.
A pixelated icon.
This is a haiku.
peachnewt:
To say you're welcome
Is but a courtesy,
To llama it forward
Changes reality.
knightswhodontsayni:
Are you suggesting
I give you a llama?
This gift I am accepting
Should come without drama.
peachnewt:
I need no return
For alpaca or llama.
And I do not ask
With anger or drama.
To give to the giver
Is a gift with two sides,
To give upon strangers
Is an unexpected surprise.
The more facets a gift
